The McCormack Experience

an introduction to the life and art of Ireland's greatest singer

John McCormack

John Count McCormack 1884-1945

I live again the days and evenings of my long career. I dream at night of operas and concerts in which I have had my share of success. Now like the old Irish minstrel, I have hung up my harp because my songs are all sung.

The John McCormack Home Page, edited by Paul Worth, was the definitive resource site for research into the life, career, and recordings of John Francis McCormack. A major purpose of Paul's work was to encourage and facilitate ongoing research on the John McCormack discography . This work is still ongoing. Your assistance, comments, and participation are invited.

The society is offering for sale on CD the "John McCormack American Radio Broadcasts, 1927-1938". All proceeds from the sale of this CD to benefit the Society's memorial efforts on behalf of John McCormack. To purchase or for more information contact the editor.

Long-time John McCormack devotee Padraic O Hara has recently published a book entitled "The Greatest Irish Tenor - a Life Sketch in Letters". This book presents John in his own words and, for good measure, adds the written words of others to complete the picture. There are numerous annotations and the book is copiously illustrated with photographs, concert programmes, etc,.

Also available is the definitive box set 'John McCormack, Icon of an Age' explores his life and remarkable career, a career that made him nothing short of a phenomenon.
